[ZenCart] Reorganizing categories

any recommendation on reorganizing categories and not loosing google organic links?

how do i add 301 rules to .htacess and not have them overwritten by magic seo and handle new products categories as created?

1) Do you mean deleting the current ones and creating new ones or changing the category tree and renaming?

2) make sure your .htaccess file is read only and/or create file named "readonly-htaccess" within the same directory.

changing tree and moving products.

will making it read only affect new products or categories created later

1) Then MSU will redirect everything automatically.

2) No. The .htaccess file needs to be writable only during the installation.

so i have

a category called salt today

http://www.tbaquatics.com/salt-56/

tomorrow i move it to newcat/salt so url is

http://www.tbaquatics.com/ztest-60/salt-56/

magic seo will do correct 301s? so google link stays?

on existing products link stays

Yes.
