[Zen Cart] fancy-data cache problem

Postby BlessIsaacola » Mon May 12, 2008 1:41 pm

We recently emptied some of the cache data from fancy-data folder. Unfortunately, this messed up our site completely. Instead of MSU just regenerating new cache all of our old links are now broken. Please go to http://www.clevershoppers.com and click on a category and navigate to a product, you will get an error.

Why is MSU behaving this way?

What is the exact error message? (I don't see any error on the web site).

Make sure cache/fancy-data/ directory is writable.

If you go to our site with FF, everything works flawlessly. However if you go to our home page with IE 7.0 and click on the first product under Featured Products which is "Willow Tree Father and Daughter" you get the following error:

Internet Explorer cannot open the internet site

Operation Aborted.

I am not sure why this is going....I first thought it had to do with fancy-data but that cannot be the case because everything works in FF. I am not sure what's peculiar to IE 7.0

Click on category links also work from the category sidebox in both IE and FF...I am just wondering if something is in cache that's not releasing.

cache-fancy-date are both writeable and I confirm that new data are in there from today. I have cleared browser cache, restarted the computer and even have host reboot the server.

Thanks!

I did little debugging and it is something with code on the page, some Java Script issue. Page is generated fine, it is not caused by MSU.

You're absolute right! It's related to a count down script on our site that was causing the error. I really appreciate your help on this.

I am having the same problem... I'm getting the dreaded "Operation Aborted" popup... we both have lightbox on those pages, even though I have lightbox on other pages it's not happening on, I wonder if the script countdown you are referring to has to do with lightbox. Please post what you did to fix the countdown script so that I can use Zen Cart with lightbox and Magic SEO URLs like you are.

Thank you :-)

Okay, got your PM, so I'm posting here in case someone else has this problem. You let me know it didn't have anything to do with lightbox that it was a custom script for your navigation that was causing the problem.

I'm running Zen Cart 1.3.8a with Lightbox for Zen Cart and no custom scripts, so I am still at a loss. It is the only bug on the site that I'm aware of that I get this "Operation Aborted" popup with Magic SEO URLs. If this has happened to anyone else, please post what you did to fix it. Thanks.

If I can't fix it in the next several hours, I'm just going to have to drop Magic SEO URLs and try something else.

Thanks to anyone who has an idea and can post it :-)

This is something with your JavaScript code, it has nothing to do with MSU. PM your FTP login details, I will try to look what is exactly going wrong.
