Magic SEO URL has been installed successfully and is up and running now.

I didn't notice the problem with blank page, but with never finished requests. Such problems are caused by too old (buggy) Zend Optimizer. I installed latest one, but then HTTP 500 errors occurred due to buggy PHP 4.3 core, so I switched to PHP 5.2 and everything is working like a charm.
In short, this issue combined two problems which we are experiencing since MSU has been developed, but it can not be worked around on the PHP script side, because something is messed up at too low level in PHP API.

I am aware of the above link but the 7 sites I checked didn't have the forced 2 copyright links and that's what I was trying to see on a site with it. I did finally find one. I don't like the idea of 40,000+ outbound link going out to a site without having control. If we decide to upgrade, I will definitely go for the version that will not force us to implement 40,000+ outbound links. Thanks!
