I just found out that some of the URL's have changed for the same pages.

For example, I found this URL on Google:

http://www.rayfield.net/services-21/gro ... systems-25

But, this URL does not take me to the correct page. Going to the above URL takes me to:

http://rayfield.net/fire-intercom-syste ... ations-25/

And the Grounding Systems page is actually here:

http://rayfield.net/services-2/grounding-systems-10/

I have created new categories and moved a few around. Is that what has caused these changes in URL's?

Is there any way to 'fix' this, so that a specific URL will always 'point' to the correct page?

Is this problem, of "changing URL's" related to the number that is at the end of each URL?

Yes. Instead of renaming items in catalog, you have to use move/copy function. Otherwise old URLs will be redirected to the new URIs of renamed items.
